Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

Track and validate quantities of materials installed in the field (i.e., m³ concrete, m³ reinforced concrete, m² paving, tons of structural steel, piping factors, m² painting, m² insulation, m cables and trays, etc.) on the basis of schedule and MTOs/bill of materials.
Monitor and assure proper measurement of physical progress in the field.
Validate progress reporting of engineering contractors and construction contractors.
Obtain and summarize comments from project team members (e.g., discipline engineers).
Perform gap analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Preparation of reports, presentations etc.
Analyse outcomes and write detail progress reports.
Assure proper input to technical and commercial invoice verification.
Providing advice and forecast about costs.
Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.
Keep tracking of any variations to the contract that may affect costs.
Provide advice on contractual claims.

Education, Experience, and Qualities

Technical Education (preferably mechanical or civil engineering).
Minimum 3 years of relevant job experience.
Practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking.
Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
Ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
Detail knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters
